Linda Ilowite Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frech - Mcknight Funeral Home on Nov. 14, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Marie Ilowite (Tulli), age 63. She passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at Mt. Sinai hospital. She consistently defied the odds during her 8 year journey with cancer. She is deeply mourned by her loving husband Dr. Peter Ilowite of Holy Name Hospital. She was a beloved daughter to Anthony Tulli of Toms River and Cecile Peppin of Cresskill (deceased). A devoted sister to Lisa Davis of Lakewood, Laura Shouldis of Manahawkin, Joe Tulli of Dumont, and Paul Tulli of Ringwood. Cherished Aunt of 10 nieces and nephews. Doting doggy mommy to their dog, Spock.

Linda grew up in Dumont, New Jersey and graduated from Dumont High School in 1979, where she was an outgoing and an active student and was the captain of their cheerleading team. She worked many years at Dunroven Nursing Home in Cresskill, where she excelled at caring for the elderly. She was also employed as an editor at The Bergen Record in Hackensack, while studying to become a nurse. She received her nursing degree from Bergen Community College, pursued her BSN at St. Peter's University and began a career specializing in psychiatric nursing at the former Bergen Regional Medical Center. She devoted the remainder of her career working alongside her husband, at his medical practice.

She married Dr. Peter Ilowite in 1996 and they both enjoyed a happy life together for many years. They resided in Manhattan, where they lived an active urban lifestyle, both passionate about experiencing the many arts and cultures that the city has to offer. Linda was especially noted for her gentle and caring nature, in addition to her uplifting and positive spirit. Everyone who came across Linda during her lifetime had only wonderful memories of her and she will missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16th from 2 to 4 PM, with a memorial service at 3 PM, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ 07628. All friends and family are welcome.
