Linda Williams Joiner, age 80, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at The Pinnacle in Oxford, Mississippi.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 for visitation from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home followed by interment at Forrest Memorial Park.
Linda was born on July 30, 1943 to the late James Thomas Williams and Dorothy Corine Herring Williams in Crenshaw, Mississippi. Linda was a beloved member of the Batesville community. She left behind a legacy as the proud business owner of the former Warehouse Sales and Classy Steps, where she showcased her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to providing quality products. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church. Linda's vibrant personality was marked by her loving and kind nature, which endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beyond her successful career, she found joy in various hobbies and interests. She cherished her family deeply and treasured moments spent with loved ones during family gatherings. Linda also had a passion for traveling and took delight in decorating homes, including her store, which always featured the latest interior design trends.
Along with her parents, she is welcomed into the heavenly kingdom of God by her husband, Willie “Bill” E. Joiner and two siblings, Brenda Williams Youngblood and Dewayne Williams.
The family she leaves behind to cherish her precious memory include her two daughters, Angela Joiner Griffin (Greg) and Pamela Joiner Aven (Billy Van) both of Courtland, MS; her sister, Sheila Williams Simmons (Cecil) of Vicksburg, MS; three brothers, Terry Williams (Carolyn) of Courtland, MS, Mike Williams (Linda) of Vicksburg, MS, and Jimmy Williams (Paula) of Batesville, MS; two sister-in-laws, Shirley Joiner Alexander (Hank) of Collierville, TN and Sandra Joiner of Bossier City, LA; 7 grandchildren, Christopher Glenn Durham (Lauren), Matthew Allen Durham (Rachel), William Hunter Durham (Diamond), Chase Joiner Durham (Tabitha), Carter Van Aven (Caroline), Grace Griffin (Cole), Gehrig Scott Griffin (Hannah); and 8 great-grandchildren, Hudson Durham, Annabelle Durham, Grady Durham, Logan Durham, Riley-Kate Durham, Elaina Durham, Salem Durham, and Tucker Durham.
The family of Linda would like to give special thank you to the staff at The Pinnacle of Oxford and to Gentiva Hospice and her personal care givers: Jessica Channey, Diamond Durham, and Tracey Coats for their great, special care and their dedication to meeting her needs. Linda’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, as they remember her for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her community and family. May she rest in peace.
