Linda Kyd Obituary

Linda Barrow Kyd

July 13, 1964 - March 7, 2025

Charlotte, North Carolina - Linda passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2025, in Charlotte, NC. She was a beloved sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed for her dry wit, kind heart, and her unmistakable laugh. Her quick comebacks were legendary and kept her sisters and friends on their toes. She was loyal to her family and took great care of her aging parents in their final years. Linda found unwavering companionship in her two beloved dogs, Ellie and Reston, who brought her great joy and unconditional love.

Linda was born and raised in Charlotte. She attended East Mecklenburg High School and after graduating moved to Atlanta then Roanoke, Virginia, pursuing a career in the insurance industry, most notably with Atlantic Mutual Company.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Margaret Kyd Frucht (Jerry), Lisa Kyd Frucht (Barry), and Cathy Kyd Stroud (Steve), as well as her nieces and nephews; Rebecca, Jessica, Joshua, Michael, Caroline, and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thad Hollenbeck Kyd and Vivian Barrow Kyd, and her sister, Vivian Irene Kyd.

Linda's presence was deeply felt by those closest to her. She will be remembered for her quiet strength and the simple yet meaningful ways she showed she cared.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dylan's Hearts animal charity in Greensboro, NC in her memory.

Great childhood memories growing up with Linda and all the Kyd sisters. From softball games in the backyard to sneaking a shot of bourbon from the liquor cabinet :) Linda and family were always just across the fence. Thank you for those memories and thoughts and prayers to your family.

We are so sorry for the sudden and shocking loss of your sweet sister. She was very special to our family as are each of you. She was kindhearted, sweet and caring. She always kept a watchful eye on not only your parents, but mine. We will miss her and pray for your family's comfort. Her sweet dogs Ellie and Reston are missed each day by us including our pups Dakota and Dolly, but we are so happy they have found their home with Margaret. God bless each of you and we are here for you. We love you all! Richard, Amy, and Kathleen.
