Linda Ruth (Lane) Swimmer, a resident of Gore, Oklahoma, passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 8, 1948, in Quanah, Texas, Linda made the Gore area her home for many years. She was known for her unwavering dedication and hard work, serving as a housekeeper for Fin & Feather Resort for many years and also contributing her efforts at Greenleaf Nursery.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Linda's faith played a central role in her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times.
Linda leaves behind three sisters, Jeana Laymon and Chris of Gore, OK; Donna Kay Lane of Gore, OK; and Susan Lane of Gore, OK; two brothers, Richard Lane and Sandra of Gore, OK, and Townsil Lane and Donna D. of Gore, OK; as well as her sister-in-law, Andrea Lane of Gore, OK. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her son, Virgil Lee Swimmer, Jr.; her parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and James Swimmer; three brothers, Karry Michael Lane, Jimmy Joe Lane, and Arthur "Mickey" Lane; two nieces, Meghan Lane and Kathy Laymon; and her grandparents, Arthur Grove Lane, Ellen Mae (Hubler) Lane, Joe Smith Marshall, and Carrie Ethel (Cole) Lane.
A viewing will be held on November 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Agent Millsap Event Center, located at 100 North Highway 10, Gore, OK. A funeral service will take place on November 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1009 N Way, Gore, OK, concluding at 2:00 PM.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Lane, Jr., Jacum Lane, Joe Lane, Jeremy Lane, Harlon Mannon, Caliber Mannon and Casey Laymon. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Laymon, Jake Laymon, Jimmy Swimmer, Marshall Lane, Israel Lane and Steven Kelly.
