Mrs. Pettit worked as a licensed practical nurse and enjoyed reading and taking care of her grandchildren.
Her surviving family includes two sons: Gary L. Pettit, Jr. of Elizabeth, Indiana, and Arthur Pettit of Bedford; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Danny Perry of Bedford; two sisters: Helen Casey of Louisville, Kentucky, and Bessie Casey and her husband, Steven of Clarkson, Kentucky; and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary L. Pettit, Sr. on October 19, 2013; and two brothers: Daniel and John Ballard.
No services are planned. Interment will be in the Ralston Cemetery, Bedford.
