Linda Martinez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rossi Family Funeral Home, Inc. on Nov. 4, 2025.
Linda M. Martinez, 87, of Canton, passed away on October 29, 2025. Born in Amsterdam, Ohio on May 29, 1938 to the late Leonard and Lydia (Dalpra) Genetin, she graduated from Springfield High School in 1956. Linda retired in 1988 from Superior Meats after 23 years of employment due to a plant closure. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish, where she loved to sing as part of the church choir. In her free time, she loved playing euchre with her friends at the senior center. While at home she loved her crossword puzzles, cooking and taking care of her flower garden and lawn as her goal was to have the nicest lawn in the neighborhood. She always made time to call her children to check up on them.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Ray Changet, brothers Herman, Leonard and Donald Genetin, sisters Maria Genetin, Rita Waggnor, Eleanor Bake, and Elvira Miller.
Linda is survived by her husband of 51 years Angelo Martinez, children Toni (Jim) Nanstad, Terry Changet, Michael (Carolyn) Martinez, and Melissa (Michael) Hutzler; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Arthur Genetin and Norma Sedlock; sister-in-law Shirley Genetin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Helping Hands, Aultman Hospice, and especially Shelia Gump and cousin Brenda Stoffer for all their loving care.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at Little Flower Catholic Parish at 11 am. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
