Linda Gail Mann Mason, 71, of Lynchburg passed away peacefully Sunday, April 14, 2024.
She has gone to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior and will always be in our hearts. Family is a gift that lasts forever.
Loving Mother and dedicated wife, Linda was born December 21, 1952, to the late Julius K. and Carrie Powell Mann. She graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1972. For her career, she chose to serve others at the Central Virginia Training Center, where she made lifelong friends. Linda liked to travel and found happiness everywhere she looked. She enjoyed the beauty of nature as well as the excitement of casinos. She was an avid shopper and had a knack for finding just the right thing, typically for someone else. She had a kind heart, and her generosity knew no bounds. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Macon Mason; granddaughter Laura Mason; sisters, Shirley Tyree and Kathy Gaulden; brother, Mike Mann; and sister-in-law, Cindy Mann.
She is survived by her children Shelby Wiley (Jim), Deborah Pangle, and Danny Mason; her granddaughters Amber, Courtney, and Savanah; and nephew, Stevie Mann.
The family would like to thank the Oncology and Palliative care staff at Lynchburg General Hospital for their compassion and care.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at Spring Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
