Linda Massie

Linda L. Massie (nee Hickey), 74, of Withee, Wis., passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025.



Linda was born in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and moved with her parents to Union Grove at a young age. She graduated from Union Grove High School in 1969 and, later that year, on December 20, married the love of her life, James D. Massie. Together, they shared 46 years of marriage until James's passing on January 25, 2016.



Linda's heart and home were always open. She lovingly welcomed four stepchildren into her family and later had three children of her own: Christopher D. "Opie" Massie, the late Brett Massie (November 2013), and Wendy Massie. She was a proud grandmother to 10 step-grandchildren: two grandsons, Devin J. Massie and Mathew J. Wilson; and several step-great-grandchildren.



Linda's career in caregiving and service spanned decades. She worked for the State of Wisconsin at both Southern Wisconsin Center and Northern Wisconsin Center, retiring in 2005. After many years in Lublin, she moved to Withee following the loss of her husband.



Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; her son, Brett; and her brother, Patrick Hickey. She is survived by her children: Christopher (Jodi) and Wendy; her beloved grandchildren; three sisters: Sandy Heroux, Jackie Garcia, and Alice Osborne; nieces, nephews, and her extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.



A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen on Monday, August 18th, 2025. Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home, followed by a luncheon at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee.
