Linda Lou Mendenhall, 88, of Westfield, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Compassus Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born on October 8, 1936 to Ernest and Martha (Macy) Kirkman in Indianapolis, Indiana.
A lifelong resident of Westfield, Linda worked for Westfield Elementary School's cafeteria for 25 years, retiring as Head Cook. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, crafting, and baking and decorating cakes. Linda was also a talented artist, having learned her oil painting skills by watching various artists on television. She also enjoyed listening to music, with Neil Diamond being her favorite artist..
She is survived by her son, Timothy J. Mendenhall (Kathy Blackford); daughter, Tina J. Mendenhall (Kevin Faulkner); grandsons, James Mendenhall (Jenn Hagen) and Isaac Mendenhall (Jana Jin); sister, Sue Trent; and her brother, Charles Kirkman.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Mendenhall, and her infant siblings, Jimmy and Joyce.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with services at 1:00 pm, on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Chaplain Christopher Suder will officiate. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
