Linda Sue Mills, 76, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away on October 4, 2023, at her residence in Nowata, Oklahoma into the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born to Edward Mills Sr. and Emma (Lucas) Mills in Nowata, Oklahoma, on July 7, 1947.
Linda grew up and attended high school in Winnebago, Illinois. She then went on to attend college in Minnesota, receiving a bachelor’s degree in education. After graduating college, Linda went on to become a teacher in Hawaii. Linda had many interests which included reading, traveling, and watching Snoopy. She was always very active in her church, Hillside Christian Church, and in the Nowata community. Linda loved taking care of her cat, Smokey. She was always passionate about spending time with her friends and family and will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Edwin Mills Sr. and Emma (Lucas) Mills and her siblings: Edward Mills Jr. and Carol Morgan.
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her nieces and nephews: David Mills Lowe, Daniel Mills Lowe, James Morgan, Michelle Morgan, and Timothy Morgan; her great niece: Victoria “Vicki” Freeman, whom she was very close to, along with many other great nieces, numerous great nephews, her great great niece: Madelyn Freeman, and other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Hillside Christian Church with Van Longbons officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemoriesnowata.com.
