Ms. Linda Lee Moton, 65, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, December 21, 2024, while surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born on May 29, 1959, in Postelle, Arkansas, Linda was the beloved daughter of Leroy Young and Malinda Brown.

Linda attended school in Marvell, Arkansas; she later relocated to Saginaw, Michigan, following a few years in Flint, Michigan. Linda received an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Delta College. She proudly completed the Police Academy at Delta and served 10 years with the City of Saginaw Police Department, retiring as a sergeant in 2001. Linda was also employed in Security by Saginaw Township Schools (Heritage High School). Linda gave her life to Christ and was baptized in April 2005. She attended New Covenant Christian Center Church under the leadership of Apostle Ron Frierson. Linda was a woman of many passions including reading, fishing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, gaming, and playing golf. She enjoyed traveling, mentoring, and giving back to the community. She found joy in helping others and she had an unwavering commitment to her family and friends; she was especially devoted to her children and grandchildren and was proud of them as well. Linda was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of encouragement when needed. Linda touched the lives of all who knew her and she leaves a legacy of love and inspiration.

She leaves to cherish loving memories one son, Charles Banks Jr, Saginaw, Michigan; four daughters, Lemekia Young, Jacksonville, Florida, Glenda Young, St. Augustine, Florida, Teressa Young, Saginaw, Michigan, and Shanquinta Goodlow, Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jordan Booker, Jazzlynn Banks-Vasquez, Richard Woods Jr, Brittany Booker, Brianna Booker, Brooklyn Odoom, Valerie Akins, and Alivia Robinson; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Thornton, Saginaw, Michigan, and Lue E. Mayo of Marvell, Arkansas; two brothers, James (Angela) Boyd, Russellville, Arkansas, and Willie Brown, Washington State; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; godchildren, Kela Agnew, Carissa Necessary, Lasandra El-Siddeeq, LaKisha West, and Earl Warren; many other relatives and friends including her best friend, Patricia Snow-Boughner; special friends, Brian Bowen, Pat Terrell, and her former spouse, John Moton Jr.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Leroy Young and Malinda Brown; four brothers, Herman. Samuel, Charles, and Toney Young; two sisters, Bertha Johnson, Sallie M. Young, uncle, J.T. Brown; John Moton Sr, and Gaynelle Jackson. 

The family would like to express special thanks to Sophia Jordan, Yolanda Reynolds, Brian Bowen, Patricia Snow-Boughner, Diane Tuy-Mason, Apostle Ron Frierson and the New Covenant Christian Center Church, Wellspring Lutheran Hospice, Dr. Arup Sarkar and Staff from the Vassar location, City of Saginaw and Saginaw Township Police Departments, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff at Paradise Funeral Chapel.
