Linda Kolb Newman

Linda Kolb Newman, 81, widow of Terry Lee Newman, Sr., passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born October 2, 1944, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late James Mack "Son" Kolb, Jr. and the late Margaret Della Thorne Kolb. She was a faithful member of Concord Presbyterian Church where she served as a member of the choir. She was a member of the Sweet Elite Women's Group who have graciously continued to support and encourage her during her time of illness. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Lee Newman, Jr. (Leigh) and Mark Jackson Newman (Kim); three grandchildren, William Ashby Newman, Caleb Austin Osborne, and Anna Grace Osborne; a sister, Corinne Braddock; and a special nephew, Richard Wright, along with a number of other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 45 years, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Kolb Lemacks, and a brother, James Mack "Jimmy" Kolb, III.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the Concord Presbyterian Church cemetery officiated by the Rev. John Beane.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home of Mark and Kim Newman, 50 Pathfinder Dr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church, 3350 East Brewington Rd., Sumter, SC 29153.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of NHC Healthcare for the loving care they have shown to Mrs. Newman during her time there.
