Linda O'Daniel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home on Oct. 1, 2025.
With heavy hearts we make known the passing of our beloved Linda Sipes O'Daniel; who left us peacefully on 1/29/25 after a brief illness being blessed to be surrounded by family in her last hours.
A cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and incredible love. She brought joy and light wherever she went.
Born on 9/25/1943 in Breckinridge County to Garland and Bertha Sipes. She was a devoted wife to Dave O'Daniel and a loving mother to her sons, Billy and David Crowe. Her family was her greatest pride; she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them in every way. Her grace, strength and selflessness were evident to all who knew her. She had an ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Her wisdom and gentle spirit will continue to inspire us. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her inquisitive nature.
She was an avid reader throughout her life and enjoyed online scrabble and chess with family and friends in her later years. She enjoyed nurturing relationships with old friends and keeping up with her son's and granddaughter's lives. She was a founding member of the Castlewood Luncheon Group made up of old girlfriends. She loved family gatherings and snapping photos. Christmas Eve and birthdays were special times and filled with laughter, love and great food.
Linda graduated from Henry Clay High School. She had a tremendous work ethic and worked in the manufacturing industry for 40 years. She rose to a supervisory position retiring at age 62 and she enjoyed her retirement years greatly.
She is survived by her loving husband Dave O'Daniel, adoring sons William Crowe, MD (Dena) and David Crowe (Kelly), grandchildren Grace Crowe and Kelsey Crowe, step-children, Tanya Starrett (Mark), Troy O'Daniel and Laura O'Daniel, and lifelong best friend Rosalie Schooler.
A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Wednesday 2/5/25 at Blackburn and Ward funeral home in Versailles, KY. Funeral services will be Thursday 2/6/25 at 1:30.
