Linda Mae Olson of Fargo, ND passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Her family is grateful for the care, kindness, and skill of the staff at Fargo Elim and Hospice of the Red River Valley, who delivered attentive care for her in her final years.

Born June 15, 1952, in Fargo, Linda was the daughter of Wallace (“Wally”) and Jewell (Bjorndahl) Erickson. She grew up on the family farm near Harwood, where she attended grade school before graduating from West Fargo High School in 1970. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jamestown College and began a career of serving others as a nurse.

Linda was married to James Bernard Olson on December 28, 1974, at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church in Moorhead. She and Jim were the parents of Rachel, John, and Ole. Linda worked as a nurse for many years in Minnesota, Massachusetts, North Dakota, and Texas. While living in Erskine, MN Linda faithfully served as Sunday School superintendent for many years and took care of others as a home health nurse where she spent many miles traveling to visit and care for people in northern Minnesota. In 1999 she and Jim moved back to Fargo to be closer to family and help care for their parents.

Linda enjoyed cross stitching and other crafts. She took joy in teaching and caring for her grandchildren and bringing extended family together through events she lovingly organized. After retirement she helped with childcare at Triumph West Bible Studies. Her servant’s heart and unwavering patience were ever present. Even in difficult times her children never once heard her complain.

Linda was preceded in death by husband, Jim in 2023; parents, Wally and Jewell Erickson; parents-in-law, Orville and Shirley Olson; brother, Gerry Erickson; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Olson and David Olson.

She is survived by her children, Rachel Erickson, John (Caristy) Olson, Ole (Kim) Olson; eleven grandchildren, Ingrid, Kale, Daniel (Madison), Reagan, Nikolas, Mikah, Hadassah, Steven, Gideon, Stella, and Evelyn; siblings, David (Joanne) Erickson, Jeff (Pam) Erickson, and Kristine (David) Toay; sister-in-law, Michelle Erickson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
