She was born March 13, 1943 in Waycross to the late A.C. Gunter and Corrine LaVonne Howell Gunter. She graduated from Hoboken High School in 1961.
She enjoyed raising her children, cooking, sewing, crocheting, and Rock 'n Roll, Country and Old-Time music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Russell Peters, her husband of 48 years, and sister Jo Ann Wiley.
Survivors include her sister Darlene Thompson (Al), children Mark Peters (Karen), Danny Peters, Tony Peters and Nancy Green (Neil) of Jacksonville, FL, Aunts Lorraine Dixon and Marie Strickland of Waycross, and numerous cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2025 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at High Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday July 25th at the funeral home.
