In loving memory of Linda Marie (Spellman) Peters, age 82, who passed away on September 27th surrounded by family. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

Linda was born February 9, 1943 in Medford, and was a devoted daughter to her parents, James and Erma Spellman. Linda graduated from Medford High School, class of 1960, worked at Filene's and the John Hancock Insurance Company.

Her courtship with Dick started in 1961 after meeting at the Holiday Lanes Bowling Alley in Medford through mutual friends. She married her sweetheart and the love of her life, Richard W. Peters on July 7, 1963. They bought their first home in Weymouth, then resided in Somerville for 34 years, raised her family until moving to Marlborough, where she has enjoyed living on the lake for the past 25 years.

They kept their wedding vows for over 62 years, building a home filled with love, laughter and cherished traditions. A true love story! Together they raised a family that was her greatest pride and joy. Linda lived a life marked with devotion, kindness and love.

She loved to travel with friends and family, whether it was a cruise to the Caribbean, a weekend away or trips to Europe. She found wonder in learning about new cultures, yet, no matter how far she traveled, her heart was always at home. Her house was her sanctuary, a place of peace, love, and comfort. Above all, she devoted her life to her family. Time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest joy. She cherished witnessing their growth and celebrating all their milestones.

Linda's passion was quilting. She was an active member of the Burlington Quilts' Guild, holding many positions over the years from volunteer to officer. A lifelong reader and an avid card player, Linda loved nothing more than gathering with family and friends. She was the "Hostess with the Mostess", she welcomed everyone with open arms and a smile that made every occasion special.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband Richard, son James Peters (Kathy) of Tewksbury, daughter Karen Chiricosta (Vincent) of Wilmington, and David Peters of Medford. Sister to Anne MacNeil and predeceased by her loving sister Kathleen Henry. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Michael Chiricosta (Maggie), Matthew Chiricosta and James Peters. She was also a loving Great Grandmother to Joseph and Vincent Chiricosta. Also survived by her loving nephews, niece Meghan, extended family and great friends.

Services will be held at Short and Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main Street, Marlborough, Friday, October 10th. Friends and family may visit from 10am to 12pm. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
