Linda Peterson

1940 ~ 2026

Linda Lee Bishop was born in Salina, Utah. She spent her early years in California and her teenage years growing up in Richfield, Utah. She was the oldest daughter of Wayne and Bliss Bishop and a wonderful example to her younger sisters. Linda spent her youth enjoying life in a small town. She loved going to Burrville with her family, playing with cousins, attending the annual deer hunt, visiting Fish Lake, working at Christy's Market, and-of course-hanging out with good friends.

Linda graduated from Richfield High School with the Class of 1958 and then attended the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City. She enjoyed school and spent a joyful summer working at the Grand Canyon, where she hiked rim to rim-a fact she was very proud of. While in school, Linda began dating and later married Charles Boyd Card, also from Richfield. Linda and Boyd moved back to Richfield, established a wonderful life, and welcomed a son, Rhett. When Rhett was only one year old, her first husband, Boyd Card, was tragically killed in a trucking accident, leaving Linda a young widow with an infant. Knowing she needed to support her family, Linda moved to Provo and attended Brigham Young University, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education.

While attending BYU, Linda rekindled a relationship with a former high school boyfriend and shortly after graduating married Boyd Peterson. Boyd and Linda then moved to Bountiful, Utah. Linda loved Bountiful and always referred to it as "Heaven on Earth." Shortly after moving there, they welcomed a daughter, Robyn, into their family. Linda cherished her life in Bountiful and formed many lasting friendships with neighbors and friends during the 60 years she lived there.

Linda had a great love for others and became a kindergarten teacher in the Davis School District. She taught for 31 years and made a significant impact on the lives of countless children and families. After retirement, Linda and Boyd traveled the world and greatly enjoyed visiting new places with friends. However, Linda's true love was golf, and rarely a day passed when she didn't play a round. She achieved three holes-in-one during her golf career.

Linda will be deeply missed by her two children, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Granny was the best!

The family would also like to thank the staff at Charleston Assisted Living in Cedar Hill for taking such wonderful care of Linda during her final months.

I will always think of Linda with a smile. She was my Kindergarten teacher over 40 years ago and she instilled in me a love of learning that has stayed with me through my life. She was a very special lady.
