Four Oaks: Mrs. Linda Wadsworth Rhodes, age 81, of Rhodes Farm Lane, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC. Officiating will be the Revs. Freddy Wayne Langston and Curtis Pierce. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memorial Gardens in Smithfield.
Mrs. Rhodes was born on October 19, 1943 to the late Zeb and Elsie Massengill Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lloyd Rhodes; brother, George Wadsworth; and sisters, Roena Stallings and Jenny Lou Blackmon. Mrs. Rhodes worked alongside her husband, Lloyd on the family farm. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Rhodes’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was a dedicated life-long member of Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and loved her church family deeply. Mrs. Rhodes loved eating at Burger King, Hwy 55, Four Oaks Restaurant and especially her fish plate on Friday’s from Barefoot’s.
Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amy R. Johnson and husband, Royce of Four Oaks; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy Rhodes and wife, Wanda of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Matthew Rhodes and wife, Savannah, Andrew Rhodes and wife, Ashley, and Alan Johnson and wife, Nicole; great-grandchildren, Grayson Rhodes, Leeanna Rhodes, Wyatt Rhodes and Everly Kate Rhodes; sisters, Nadine Rhodes and husband, Gerald, and Monnie Atkins all of Four Oaks; brother-in-law, Jasper Stallings of Zebulon; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Stewart’s Chapel PFWB Church, c/o Nadine Rhodes, 1081 Joyner’s Bridge Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
