The Life Journey of Linda Lou Roland
On a cold winter morning, January 16, 1951, in the small town of New London, a bright light entered the world - Linda Lou Lehman. From the very beginning, her life would become a story of love, faith, and quiet courage, filled with laughter, purpose, and adventure.
Linda's early years were shaped by the strength and kindness of her parents, Emery and Nelta (Leach) Lehman, and the joyful energy of her brothers and sisters. She grew up learning that the truest treasures in life are found in hard work, generosity, and family.
In 1970, Linda began her greatest adventure when she married the love of her life, Gerald Roland. Together, they built a partnership grounded in devotion and mutual respect - one that weathered life's storms and celebrated its brightest days side by side. Their love story became the foundation of a life rich with meaning.
Throughout her years, Linda poured her heart into everything she touched - whether working at St. Joseph's Residence, Kwik Trip, in her yard, or on one of many craft projects, she approached every role with joy and humility, leaving behind not just good work, but good memories.
Her most cherished title, however, was Mom and Grandma. Linda guided her sons, Jason and Joshua, with gentle wisdom and unwavering love. Her home was always a place of belonging - where her grandchildren, Grant, Grace, Brady, Jack and Ali, could find endless hugs, home-cooked meals, and unconditional affection. Holidays, birthdays, and everyday dinners were her way of wrapping her family in love.
Linda's journey was marked not by grand gestures, but by countless quiet acts of care - the way she listened, the way she helped, the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. Her true gift was her ability to make ordinary days feel extraordinary.
On October 25, 2025, Linda's earthly adventure came to a close as she reunited with her beloved Gerald, her parents, and her brothers and sister who went before her; Calvin Lehman, Jerry Lehman, Rueben Lehman, Bonnie (Lehman) Heineman.
Though she has crossed into a new horizon, her light continues to guide those who loved her. Linda leaves behind her sons, Jason (Heather) Roland of New London and Joshua (Bhoke) Roland of Roswell, Georgia; her brother Emery (Judy) Lehman of Green Bay; her sister Mary Romitti of Niagara, Wisconsin; her adored grandchildren Grant (Jayden), Grace, Brady, Jack and Alison (Joseph) Basak; her beloved great-grandchild, Charles Basak; her former daughter-in-law, Alison Buskohl who remains dear to the family, and many relatives and dear friends.
Linda's story is one of love lived fully, of kindness shared freely, and of family held close. Her spirit lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the traditions she built, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
"Her life was a journey of love - and though her adventure continues beyond our sight, her light will forever guide us home."
The family of Linda Roland would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff of ThedaCare Medical Center - New London.
