ASHEBORO - Linda Carol Steffey Royals, 75, died Friday, September 26, 2025, at her residence.

She was born March 10, 1950, in Marion, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Paul Hamilton and Pauline Virginia Smith Steffey. Linda started working at Randolph Hospital in 1970 where she retired following forty-five years of service as a lab technician. During her years in the lab, she made many close friendships with her patients as well as her co-workers, hospital staff and doctors. In her retirement, she enjoyed sitting on her porch with her beloved cats reading a good book or spending time visiting and talking with her neighbors. For many years, she enjoyed "sister-trips," traveling with her sister throughout North Carolina and the Southeast United States and especially enjoyed visiting historical sites.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Fred Randall "Randy" Royals; and her brother, Darrell Steffey.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Megan Elizabeth Royals of Asheboro; son, Evan Randall Royals of Dallas, Texas; and sister, Nancy Steffey Turner (Rick Mullens) of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.

There are no services planned at this time. Friends and family may leave condolences and memories for the family online on Linda's tribute page at www.cumbyfuneral.com.
