Linda Ann Samuto, age 73, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Born on November 8, 1952, she was the beloved daughter of Francis Erich and Dorothy (nee: Salter) Erich. She married the love of her life, James Samuto, January 15, 1972.
Linda was a proud member of the VFW Post 6519 in Chardon Ohio, supporting the organization through her husband's service as a veteran. She valued the camaraderie and community she found there.
Those who knew Linda knew they were always welcome at her table. She had a special gift in the kitchen and was trusted by all who gathered there. Famous among family and friends for her baking, she could make any kind of cheesecake you requested - and make it perfectly. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and second helpings.
Linda's greatest joy was her family. She adored her granddaughters, Jenna and Alex. She could often be found cheering at Jenna's dance competitions and recitals or sitting at the table working patiently through puzzles with Alex. The girls shared special moments when having sleep overs at Grandma's house, memories that will forever echo in their hearts.
The family spent countless cherished days at the dock with their boat and beloved dock neighbors. The Fourth of July was a treasured tradition, celebrated year after year at the water - sometimes even with a live band playing as friends and family gathered to enjoy the holiday together.
Linda also loved riding motorcycles with her beloved husband, James. Whether they were headed to Sandusky or exploring nearby wineries and bike nights, those rides were among her happiest adventures.
At home, Linda's loyal dachshund, Jax, was never far from her side. Jax was her little baby, a constant and faithful companion who brought her endless comfort and joy.
Creative and thoughtful, Linda enjoyed sewing and crocheting. It became a loving family tradition that everyone could expect at least one handmade afghan from her - each stitch made with care and affection.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, James Samuto; her son, Scott Samuto; her daughter, Julie (Dennis) Grasso; and her cherished granddaughters, Alex and Jenna.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Erich, Francis Erich Jr., and Peter Erich; and her sisters, Elizabeth Knapik, Kathy Kipp, and Carol Erich.
Visitation has been privately held by the family.
Linda will be remembered for her warm kitchen, her steady love, her laughter at the dock, and the deep devotion she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created and the memories she so lovingly made.
