Linda Mary (Lausten) Schubring died September 29, 2025, at Amethyst Health of Wausau, under the care of St. Croix Hospice. She was born March 2, 1948, in Green Bay to the late Roland and Pearl (Swenson) Lausten. She moved to Wausau at the age of five and graduated from Wausau High School in 1966. On November 8, 1980, she married the late Lyle Schubring Sr. in Wausau.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda is pre-deceased by two brothers, Steve Lausten and Mike Kennedy, and a stepson. She is survived by her son DuWayne, her brother Terry, four stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
Linda worked many jobs, including nurse's aide in the nursing home (then called Colonial Manor) where she would become a resident, head of housekeeping for Midway Motor Lodge (formerly in Rib Mountain), and stocker for Target in Weston, where she spent the final years of her career. She retired in 2010.
Linda will be remembered for many things, including her cooking (her potato salad, pumpkin bars, and meatloaf recipes were popular) and her duck-themed home decor. Most of all, she will be remembered for her sense of humor that she held onto even in her final month of life. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Per Linda's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau at a later date.
