Linda Schuman

Linda Schuman, 79, of Independence, died Wednesday, March 27. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 at the Grace-Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The family suggests memorial remembrances to the Jimmy V Foundation 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC 27513. Or may be left with the funeral home. Linda Lee Schuman was born November 14, 1944, in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Roberta (Dykes) Holestine. She graduated from Independence High School in 1962. She attended the Grace-Memorial United Methodist Church where she played piano and organ. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels in Independence for numerous years. Additionally, she was very active in her sons’ school activities and sports, and later the same with her grandkids. She also enjoyed going on family vacations, going to and watching sporting events. On June 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to Glenard Schuman of Independence. Additional survivors include: two sons, Derek Schuman of Shawnee, Kansas and Kyle Schuman of Smithville, Missouri; four grandchildren; and a sister, Connie Law of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
