Linda Shurtz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vining Funeral Home - Safford on Dec. 2, 2025.
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Shurtz, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Linda returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Linda was reunited with her beloved husband, George Shurtz; her sweet baby boy, Stacy Hugh; her loving daughter, Julie Bluth; adored grandson, Karson Cole Zimmerman; dear great-grandson, Gavin Rylie Shurtz; her mother and father, 5 siblings and many other family members.
Linda was the mother of seven children, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally: Lyle (Sue) Shurtz, Stanley (Carol) Shurtz, Julie (Brett) Bluth, Joni (Harald) Haidenthaller, Stacy Shurtz, Lance (Lisa) Shurtz, and Amy Shurtz. Her life was enriched by 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply blessed by her warmth, gentleness, and unwavering support.
Linda was the embodiment of kindness, soft-spoken, steady, and full of quiet strength. She lived her life with a heart wide open, welcoming everyone with love, patience, compassion and a healthy dose of wit and sass whenever she could. She was faithful and devoted in every role she held, especially as a mother and grandmother. Her family will forever remember her as the source of comfort, the giver of endless hugs, keeper of all things chocolate and sweet and the one who always made them feel safe and loved.
Her legacy is one of goodness. Linda leaves behind a family who will carry her tenderness, her example, and her light forward. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
A viewing for family and friends will be offered Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Vining Funeral Home, and Saturday morning, December 6, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., at the Solomonville Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Funeral services for Linda will be conducted Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at the Solomonville Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Robert Montierth of the Solomonville Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Central Cemetery. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Linda, please visit our floral store.
