Linda McPherson Stanton December 10, 1946 - March 25, 2026

Linda McPherson Stanton, 79, of Acworth, GA, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in the Oak Grove community, Linda was a proud McPherson-one of 14 children-who devoted her life to family, friendship, and creative pursuits.

For many years she served as an executive secretary for several prominent CPA firms in Atlanta. In later years she embraced her role as a grandmother and warmly earned the nickname "Momma Linda." An avid lover of music, movies, television, fine art, painting, and crafting, she delighted in creative projects and in bringing people together. Linda was a founder of the Oak Grove Elementary School reunions and played an active role in organizing family reunions and community gatherings throughout her life.

She is survived by her son Stan Stanton and daughter-in-law Jasmine Stanton of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter Jana Stanton VanDyke and son-in-law Mark VanDyke of Acworth, GA; grandchildren Chris Young, Kason Young (Rayane Young), Sean VanDyke, Victoria VanDyke Smith (Kyle Smith), and Stephanie VanDyke Johnston (Brandon Johnston); great-grandchildren Ryleigh Young, Brody VanDyke, Anthony Smith, Mya Smith, and Mila Smith; and siblings Gerald W. McPherson, Nelda McPherson Adams, Kathy McPherson Motti, and Donna McPherson Strickland. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo P. McPherson and Kathryn Smith McPherson, and siblings Jack McPherson, Ellen McPherson Butterworth, W.L. McPherson, Brenda McPherson, Veneta (Nikki) McPherson, Ruth McPherson Minter, Dr. Kenneth (Rex) McPherson, David McPherson, and Glen McPherson.
