Linda Marie "Lin" Stigman

Linda "Lin" Marie Stigman, a native of Bergen County, New Jersey, was born in 1948. After graduating high school in Ramapo NJ, she married and moved to Sussex, NJ in 1970. She and her husband poured love and labor into renovating a Victorian-era home, creating a fruitful garden and nurturing a sour cherry tree that her sons loved to climb.
In 1984, she moved to Orange County, New York, where her lifelong love for animals blossomed. She raised lop rabbits, Araucana chickens, geese, Nubian goats, and other livestock. In 1998, Linda relocated to Gallman, Mississippi, where she settled and continued cultivating her passions. A master organic gardener, she founded Eden Organics in 2002. Her legacy lives on in the seeds she collected-enough for many future family gardens-and in the recipes we'll strive to recreate: her lasagna, pierogi, holiday ham, and cherished green pea and ham soup.
Linda was an active member of her local churches, often singing in the choir and helping with oyster fry fundraisers. She was never shy about offering advice-whether asked for or not-and found her greatest joy in spending holidays with her grandchildren and tending her lawn.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew her through the farmer's market, plant swap, fish swap, bird shows, and countless community events-including John, Darryl, and so many others whose lives she touched. Her beloved dog and protector, Avie, and her cat Rascal will miss her dearly as well.
Linda joins her father Gilbert, sister Kathy, and brother Steve in passing. She is survived by her four sons and three daughters-in-law: Tim (Heidi), Ken (Jen), Darryll, and Brendan (Amanda); her mother Mary; sisters Joyce, Laurie, and Susanne; brother Elliot, many nieces, and nephews; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and countless friends and extended family members who hold precious memories and stories of her.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to the Copiah Animal Shelter in Crystal Springs, MS.
