A visitation for Linda Tomberlin will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at Wilson Orwosky Chapel in Emory, Texas from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Wilson Orwosky Chapel at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Elm Cemetery in Emory, Texas
Linda Tomberlin, a beloved member of our community, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 28, 1948, to Dale and Ruth Abercrombie (Milner) in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Linda was known to many as a kind heart with a gentle spirit. She married Buck Tomberlin on May 25, 1968 and they spent 56 beautiful years together making a life and family. As a devoted Secretary, she touched the lives of countless individuals through her warm demeanor, making her feel like everyone's best friend.
Linda's personality shone brightly in everything she did. Her sweet nature and the love she extended to others made her a source of strength and comfort. Friends and family alike cherished her presence, as she always demonstrated an incredible ability to be there for those in need.
Linda found joy in the simple pleasures She had a deep love for reading, often getting lost in the pages of her favorite books. When she wasn't reading, Linda could be found indulging in her love for shopping, with shoes holding a special place in her heart. Nature was another passion of hers; she loved spending time outdoors, nurturing her garden, or casting a line while fishing. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious, and she embraced every moment with happiness and gratitude.
Linda took great pride in her family, who were her proudest accomplishments. Her gentle and loving nature will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband, Buck Tomberlin; sons, Delvin Tomberlin and wife Rhonda, Greg Tomberlin and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Dylan Tomberlin, DJ Tomberlin and wife Cyndi, Danielle Hughes, Justin Hughes and wife Jaycee, Rochell Palma and husband Carlos; great grandchildren, Aislynn Tomberlin, Ryan Tomberlin, Jameson Hughes, Abbie Hughes; sisters, Betty Joe LaPlume, Ann Norvell and husband Bill and nieces, Glenda, Kim Norvell, Charlene Norvell Carlson.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Ruth Abercrombie and brother, William Abercrombie.
