Linda Ann Walter, 80, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 22, 1945, in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Floyd E. and Miriam E. (Wenrich) Seebold. In 1966, Linda married Marvin L. Smith, who preceded her in death. In 2012, she married Robert Walter, who also preceded her in death in 2022.
Linda was a 1963 graduate of Western Area Joint High School, now known as Mifflinburg Area High School.
Following graduation, she began working as a secretary for the principal at Mifflinburg High School. Over the years, she went on to serve as secretary to the School Board and later as secretary to the Superintendent, where she remained until her retirement.
Linda was a 50-year member and past matron of Mifflinburg Chapter #152, Order of the Eastern Star. She also served on the board of the New Berlin Recreation Association for 20 years and was a devoted volunteer in the gift shop at Evangelical Community Hospital for 28 years.
She enjoyed playing games with friends, reading a good mystery book, and cherished time spent with her family.
Surviving are her two granddaughters, Amber Shultz (Jonathon) of York, PA, their children, Chase and Reese Shultz; Jennifer Gurski (Michael) of Danville, their children, Sage and Hunter Gurski; and one nephew, Dusty Seebold, and Andrea Seebold, and their children.
In addition to her parents and both her spouses, Linda was preceded in death by a son, Scott Smith; a daughter, Vicki Smith; and a brother, David Seebold.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 326 Market Street, New Berlin, followed by a celebration of life service beginning at 11 a.m. with the Mifflinburg Chapter #152, Order of the Eastern Star service followed by the memorial service with Jim Cope officiating. A meal will be provided at the church following the service.
Interment will be in the New Berlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be made to Emmanuel United Church of Christ, New Berlin.
