Linda Woods Obituary

Linda Dianne Woods, 79, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, as a result of pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Natrona Heights on Sept. 6, 1946, to the late Carl and Doris Worch Helgert and had been a resident of Lower Burrell since 1968. Linda worked as an office manager for Hills Department Store in Lower Burrell from the time it opened until it closed as Ames. She was one of the last people to walk down the aisle to close the doors forever. She later retired from Borkowski Dental after 12 years as a receptionist. She had a remarkable ability to visualize and bring to life exactly what she wanted, whether it came to the primitive decorating of her home or seeing a piece of clothing become a full outfit made up of her own unique style. She loved antiques, thrifting, and decorating, and above all else, she had a deep love of family and friends, especially her grandkids. She had the biggest heart and gave unconditional love. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roger W. Woods. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 4, 2026. She is also survived by daughter, Michelle (Randy) Vickers of Springdale; son, Keith (Jill) Woods of Midlothian, VA; three grandchildren, Ashley Woods of KY, Olyvia Clark (Scott Przybysz) of Clarksburg, and Chyanne Vickers of Claridge; and brother, Gregg Helgert of South Buffalo Township; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carla Lunden, in 2023; sister-in-law, Cheryl Helgert; mother-in-law, Lempi Woods; brother-in-law, Barry Woods; and nephews, Clay Lunden and Jason Geary. We know she's flying high above and was overjoyed to see not only her family but also long-time friends Peg, Jeannie, Malvene, and Donna. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, by Rev. Harold Mele at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made in her name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org www.RusiewiczFH.com

I got to know Linda from working at Hills. She was daylight shift at the Customer Service desk; I worked the night shift. She was the sweetest person. Rest in peace Linda. I am glad I got to meet you in my life's journey.
