Lindsey Smith

Lindsey Lovelace Smith, 82, passed away peacefully February 13, 2026 surrounded by his family who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Smith and Elsie Gilbert; sister Sylvia Ainsley; brother Joseph Smith; and grandson Eric Smith.

Lindsey retired from Asplundh Tree Co as head foreman after 45 years in 2010. He loved fishing, helping everyone around him, and being outside. Lindsey was one of a kind with his humor and smart mouth and to know him was to love him.

Lindsey is survived by his son Robert Smith; his daughter's Cynthia Smith, Angela (Jeremy Barnak) Smith, Andrea (Robert) Nash: and their mother Margaret Smith, his grandchildren Brett Smith, Katy Weiss, Marcthespis Gonzalez, Madison Pezzella, Evan Barnak, and Gavin Erwin; great grandchildren Brayden Smith, Caiden Weiss, and Lucille Gonzalez; brother Benjamin (Maggie) Smith; longtime girlfriend Vicki Sparrow; her children John Sparrow, Bobby Sparrow, and Sandra (Adrian) Hard; and her children Victoria. Kaitlin, Lindsay, Taylor, Adrian, and Charles who affectionately called him Papa.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Graham Funeral Home and Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, Monday February 23, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Jon Keane officiating.
