Lindsey Faye Wilson was born on December 19, 1983, in Jefferson, IA, to David Curtis and Janelle Lynn Wilson. On October 24th, 2021, Lindsey left us too soon and will forever leave a hole in our hearts.
Growing up, Lindsey shined as a star athlete on the court and field. After graduating from Jefferson Scranton High School in 2002, she went on to Kirkwood Community College to Study Sports Management and played softball. Then to William Penn, where she played basketball, before finishing school.
Lindsey had a huge passion for life! Always on the go biking, hiking, running, and working out. On top of her athletic abilities, she lived her life educating others about nutrition and fitness. She worked as the General Manager for Genesis Fitness Club in Des Moines, which she was so proud of and absolutely loved.
She was very blessed in life by the love of her friends and family that surrounded her. She was so easy to love. She had the kindest heart, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone without a blink of an eye. Having no children, her nieces and nephews- Jaislynn, Mason, Elle, Wilson, Max and Charlie- were one of the biggest loves of her life (besides her mom and dad of course!) and her fur babies, pups Kinnick and Summit. Her connection to animals was like no other. She would come home regularly with foster dogs that she would give endless love too. And always went to great lengths to give back to animal shelters and help all animals find loving homes.
Lindsey left us way too soon, but will always have a special spot in the hearts of her parents Dave & Janelle. Her older brother Jade, sister-in-law Beckye, and their children Max and Charlie. Her older sister Nicole, brother-in-law Mike and their children Jaislynn, Mason, Elle and Wilson Happe. Her partners through her life, Kelsey Summers and most recently Mackenzie Riedell and her very loved dogs, Kinnick and Summit. Lindsey was blessed with so many loving aunts, uncles and cousins in which she had such special bonds with. And of course, her countless friends that she cherished so much and loved so dearly. (Travis Kersey ).
Lindsey was preceded in death by her grandparents Curly & Cora Lee Thielen; Max and Dorothy Wilson; and her Uncle Rick Wilson, all from Hampton, IA.
Our wish is that you will all remember her for her kindness, huge heart, humor and her absolute sense of adventure and ability to love life and those around her to the fullest. She will be missed more than words can express, but never forgotten. Her smile, laugh and memory will forever be in our hearts. And we will always hear her reminding us to, "Be Kind, Rewind ".
We will miss you always! Love, Mom & Dad
