Lindya was born on May 8, 1935 in Crowville, LA to O'Quin Joe and Vivian McGraw Pierce.
Lindya started work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1955 and served the company until her retirement in 1995.
She is preceded in death by her parents, O'Quin and Vivian, her older brother, Jimmy Joe; and her younger siblings, twins Bobby and Betty.
She is survived by her two children, Stanley Batton and his wife Mechelle, and Stacey Batton-Williams and her husband Patrick; her grandchildren, Dylan Williams and his wife Rachel Williams, Brittany Batton-Sampson and her husband Nicolas Sampson, Samantha Batton-Anderson, and Gage Williams; her great-grandchildren, Colby, Addilyne, Ella, Dallas, Deon, and Lenox; and many more family and friends.
A viewing will be held for Lindya at Barnes Friederich & Pope Funeral Home on Douglas from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 6th, 2025. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Barnes Friederich & Pope Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 7th, 2025. Following the service, a committal service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, Oklahoma.
