Linna Lee Bradford, 87, of Altamont, Illinois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at St Anthony Hospital, Effingham, IL. She made it to her forever home in time to join William, to celebrate their upcoming 69th anniversary.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. Pastor John Taliwaga will officiate. Burial will follow immediately at Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Linna was born October 19, 1938, in Effingham, Illinois, to Carl E. and Corliss O. (Wilson) Byers. She married William L. Bradford on November 30, 1956, in Corinth, MS. Linna worked in health care and retail for the majority of her working years and retired from JC Penney in 2003. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham. She loved to travel, dining out, and country music. She loved her family and friends and was always welcoming and available to them.
She is survived by her children; son, William “Doug” Bradford, Altamont, IL; daughter, Leann Bradford-Copper (husband, Jerry), Decatur, IL; Sister Anita O’Leary, (husband, Mike) of Kinmundy, IL; grandchildren, Joshua Bradford (wife Mallory), of Orlando, FL, Jessica Thomason (wife, Mel) of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Bradford, (wife, Marcedis) of Highland, IL, Anna Copper of Chicago, IL; seven great-grandchildren: Ophelia and Remi Bradford, Everett and June Thomason, Matt, Linna and Kole Bradford; Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brother, Dean Byers and wife, Joann; sister, Donna Bushue and husband, Robert and her daughter-in-law Thelma Bradford.
