Those preceding her in death include her father, Eldon L. Jemes; grandparents, W.C. "Bill" Jemes, Violet Jemes and Jake Bennett and Lora Bennett; one daughter, in infancy; two grandbabies; and her step-father, Randy Walters. Lisa accepted Christ as her Savior early in life and attended Mt. Zion Cuba Church, for most of her life. More recently, she had been a long time active and faithful member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved to sing and praise her Jesus, especially with her family. She became a pastor's wife when Steven answered the call to preach. She loved everyone and wanted to see all her family and friends saved and baptized. She never missed a chance to witness. She was raised in the Grovespring area and lived on the family dairy farm. Lisa attended Lebanon High School, where she met the love of her life, Steven. She and Steven started their own dairy farm where they milked and lovingly raised their three children. When the children were grown, they went from dairy farming to raising beef cattle. She also enjoyed raising puppies. Lisa loved living on the farm and teaching her family about farm life. Lisa enjoyed fishing, camping, tending to her plants and flowers, lake life and eating lobster whenever she got the opportunity. She was thrifty and enjoyed bargain hunting at yard sales. She never met a stranger. She was selfless and kind. She had a servant heart and loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally. Lisa and Steven were loving foster parents to many children over the years. Each one holding a special place in their heart. She was such a loving mother and grandmother "Nan" as they all called her. Even in her time of illness, she would use that opportunity to witness to doctors and nurses. During her last visit in the hospital, she would tell everyone, God sent me here and this is where I'm supposed to be, I just want to tell you about my Jesus. We will miss her, but, as was Lisa's intention, she plans to fill Heaven with her family and friends, where we will rejoice together forever. Memorials have been suggested to Lisa's family to help with expenses. Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
