Lisa Conlan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Dec. 14, 2024.
Lisa "Lee" O'Leary Conlan, surrounded by the heartfelt prayers of her family and aided with the sacraments of the Church, entered eternal life on December 13, 2024. Beloved by all, Lisa was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, "Auntie" and best friend. Warm and immensely loving, with a quick wit and an infectious laugh, Lisa was the absolute cornerstone of her family. Her giving heart, steadfast courage, and love for God guided her throughout her life and left an immeasurable impact not only on her husband, daughters and extended family, but also graced the lives of her many friends, neighbors, co-workers and the countless others who loved her. Selfless, funny, and unwavering, Lisa was an inspiration and pillar of strength to everyone who was blessed to know her..
Born on November 23, 1977, Lisa grew up in Atkinson, NH and attended Timberlane Regional High School, followed by the University of New Hampshire. After a semester in Disney's College Program, she returned to UNH where she chose to follow in her mother's footsteps and pursue nursing. During a summer nursing preceptorship at Georgetown Medical Center in Washington, D.C., she met her best friend and loving husband of 19 years, Andy. Upon graduation, Lisa worked as a postpartum, mother-infant, and labor and delivery registered nurse at Portsmouth Regional Hospital Portsmouth, NH, Brigham Women's Hospital Boston, MA, University of Virginia Charlottesville, VA, St. Mary's Hospital Richmond, VA, Lawrence General Hospital Lawrence, MA, and finally, at the Elliot One Day Surgery Center in Manchester, NH. Her career as a dedicated and attentive nurse is a testament to the bonds she developed with her patients and their families throughout her time tirelessly caring for babies and mothers when they were most vulnerable and in need of devotion.
Although Lisa was certainly a gift to those who knew her as a nurse, her greatest calling was becoming a mother to her daughters, Addie and Ellie. The unconditional love Lisa had for her girls was immeasurable. Always there when needed, Lisa put her family first and did everything in her power to ensure her daughters knew what treasures they were. From cooking her delicious vegetable lasagna to enthusiastically cheering on the lacrosse sidelines or in the volleyball stands, everything Lisa did for her daughters was done with unending love and dedication. With full trust in God's plans for Addie and Ellie, Lisa tirelessly worked to instill in them the values that will successfully guide them throughout their lives. Firm in her resolve, she pushed for the girls to "always be the best version of themselves," modeling this very phrase throughout her own life for them to witness.
It is no secret to those who knew her that Christ dwelled deeply in Lisa's heart. No matter what she was up against, Lisa stayed positive and focused on gratitude, making the most of her time with family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed travel and was known for expertly talking the people she loved most into joining her on the latest adventure she had planned. No matter what itinerary she dreamed up, her uncanny ability to drag loved ones into her elaborate plans was both comical and undeniable. Whether she was going to Our Lady of Lourdes, the Vatican, the Cape or Florida, Lisa was sure she had the people she loved in tow. God and family first - Lisa certainly knew what mattered most and her life was a genuine reflection of this truth.
Lisa is preceded by 3 miscarried daughters, her father, Rich O'Leary, and survived by her husband, Andy, their two daughters, Addie (17) and Ellie (11), and their Potcake from the Abacos, Ginger, of Atkinson, NH; her mother, Rosemary O'Leary, of Atkinson, NH; her sister and brother-in-law Lori and Troy Petersen and nieces Olivia, Julia and Alexa of Salem, NH; and her sister and brother-in-law, Kristin and Steve Dardas and nephews Michael and Christopher of Atkinson, NH; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Liz Conlan, niece and nephews, Turner, Katie, William and Henry of Mechanicsville, VA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian and Sarah Conlan and nephews Hunter and August of Jacksonville, FL; and her mother and father-in-law, Karen and Kevin Conlan of Salem, VA.
Her family is eternally grateful for the countless friends who carried, cared for and love her, and everyone at Dana Farber who cared for her.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday December 17, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday December 18 at 11:00 am at St Anne Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will be in Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, NH.
