Montague, MA - Lisa Krauss, 65, of Montague passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, surrounded by family and friends after a long illness.

Lisa was born on November 4, 1960, to James and Theresa Paige. Lisa was educated in New York at Niskayuna High School, class of 1978 and Hudson Valley Community College where she earned her Associates degree in civil engineering in 1981. In April of 1984 she married John Krauss.

While living in Connecticut Lisa was employed by Yale University. After moving to Massachusetts, she worked as building inspector for the town of Deerfield. She then went on to work for Deerfield Academy as the environmental coordinator until her retirement in 2004.

Lisa is lovingly remembered by her husband John and her sister Terri Birsen, Nicholas Krauss(son) Britteny Krauss (daughter in law) of Hill City MN, Ethan Krauss(son) of South Deerfield, MA and leaves many special friends that will forever remember her giving & fun spirit. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family. Lisa was highly creative and loved making pottery and jewelry. She especially enjoyed spending time at the cabin in New Hampshire and with her beloved dog Dakota.

The family would like to sincerely thank Wiesia Nye, Lucyna Blyszczek, the emergency room, intensive care unit and all the nurses and doctors of Baystate Franklin also Pioneer Valley Hospice who took loving and exceptional care of her through her illness and numerous trips to the hospital.

The family would also like to deeply and sincerely thank Patti Kopec whose dedication and loving care helped Lisa and her family through the many difficult times as her illness progressed.

Per Lisa's desires cremation right will be accorded and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers it would be desired to have charitable donations sent to the Frankin County animal shelter or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
