Lisa M. Leonard, 45, of Le Claire, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, surrounded by the love of her family.
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held Sunday, September 14 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Mississippi River Distillery Company in Le Claire, Iowa. Lisa Marie McCreery was born August 1, 1980, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Thomas and Cindy (Teigen) McCreery. Following in her father’s footsteps, she began working at Hy-Vee at just 16 years old. With hard work, dedication, and compassion for others, she worked her way into Human Resources, where she devoted more than 25 years of her life. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa. On March 25, 2006, Lisa married the love of her life, Aaron Leonard, in Bettendorf, Iowa, and together they built a beautiful family filled with love.
In 2016, Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer, a battle she faced with courage, faith, and unshakable grace. Despite endless treatments and unimaginable challenges, she remained the family’s steady light, offering strength and positivity even in her most difficult moments. She lived a life of selflessness, always placing the needs of others before her own. Lisa’s kindness and generosity were truly one of a kind, and she was a blessing to all who knew her.
Lisa had a love for reading and found joy in the magic of Harry Potter. She adored fashion and makeup, and she expressed herself with a vibrant style that reflected her spirited personality. Above all, her greatest joy was her children. Whether cheering at sporting events, snapping pictures at school dances, or simply being present for every milestone, Kiley and Brady were the center of her world.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Aaron Leonard; children, Kiley and Brady Leonard; parents, Thomas and Cindy McCreery; brother, Ray (Brianne) McCreery; nieces and nephews, Everly, Remy, and Finley McCreery; and many other cherished relatives and friends who loved her deeply.
Lisa’s light will never dim. Her love, her laughter, and her unwavering spirit will continue to shine through her family and all whose lives she touched.
