Lisa Ann McCaughey was born on December 18, 1964, in Normal, Illinois, and passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2025, in Madison, Wisconsin.
Though her time with us was far too short, Lisa filled every moment with laughter, love, and an energy that drew people in wherever she went.
To know Lisa was to be welcomed. She had a gift for making everyone she met feel seen, special, and loved. Whether it was a neighbor, a waitress, or someone she struck up a conversation with at the bar, Lisa made friends everywhere she went. Her warmth and humor were impossible to forget.
"If there was fun to be had, Lisa wanted to have it!" Her vibrant spirit brought a smile to everyone's face and made even the simplest moments memorable. She lived life out loud - full of color, kindness, and joy.
Lisa was a devoted mother to her daughters, Kara and Becca, who were the center of her world. Her love for her grandchildren - Paisley, Cashen, and Sawyer - was boundless. Being "Me" was one of her greatest joys. She is also survived by her dad, Dan Dugan, her mom, Virginia Dugan, and her brother, Greg Dugan.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck McCaughey, whose memory she carried in her heart every day. Her family finds peace knowing that she is with him again.
In recent years, Lisa found deep happiness with her boyfriend, Jon. Together for five years, they shared laughter, adventures, and plans for the next chapter of life. He became part of her family, and she felt so loved and at peace by his side.
A memorial mass will be held to celebrate Lisa's life on November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W 143rd St, Olathe, KS.
Lisa's light and laughter will be deeply missed, but her joy, love, and spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
