Lisa Mehling Obituary
Lisa Ann Mehling, 59, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Billings, Montana, Lisa spent her life between Billings and Houston, Texas, creating memories and friendships wherever she went.
Lisa was a bright and shining star - the kind of person who could light up a room just by walking into it. She had a contagious laugh, a vibrant spirit, and a style that was uniquely her own. To know Lisa was to know someone genuine, eccentric, and endlessly warm.
Above all, Lisa was a devoted mother whose children were her pride and joy. Lisa had a gift for making people feel safe, understood, and cared for-a gift she carried into her chosen profession as a caregiver. She treated every person she worked with like family, offering comfort, laughter, and dignity in the moments they needed it most. Caring for others wasn't something she learned; it was simply in her nature.
Lisa was a devout follower of Jesus Christ, and found immense comfort and strength in her faith. She loved calling to check in on loved ones and sharing her daily devotionals, always reminding those around her of God's love, the power of forgiveness, and the strength we find in a higher power. Her unwavering belief was a cornerstone of her life, and shaped the way she cared for others.
Though our hearts ache with her passing, we find comfort in imagining Lisa reunited with her loved ones in heaven, whole, at peace, and wrapped in God's eternal love.
Lisa is survived by her son, Dillon; her daughter, Savannah; her grandson, Justice; her siblings Gail (TL) Demaree, Fern (Dan) Griffin, Susan (Mark) Becker, and Fritz II (Julie) Mehling; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred (Fritz) and Wendy Mehling.
A memorial service celebrating Lisa's life will be held on Friday, August 29th, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Billings Cremation & Burial Services (29 8th St W, Billings, MT 59101).
For those wishing to honor Lisa's memory, she would have appreciated flowers. Alternatively, donations may be made in her name to the Visiting Angels Foundation, which supports caregivers and the elderly.
