SECOR – Lisa Rohde, 60, of Secor, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born on March 4, 1963, in Peoria, Illinois, to Francis and Dixie (Joos) Vojta. Lisa married Ronald Rutledge on August 22, 1981 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2002. She later married Joe Rohde on February 14, 2014, in Eureka, Illinois.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Rohde of Secor; two sons, Craig (Katie) Rutledge of Lone Tree, CO, and Joshua Rutledge of Chillicothe; one daughter, Melissa (Andrew) Kistner of Washington; seven grandchildren; her mother, Dixie Vojta of Chillicothe; her siblings, Paul (Kathleen) Vojta of Sterrett, AL, Eric Vojta of Peoria, David (Diane) Vojta of Chillicothe and Rebecca (Chris) Coovert of Washington.
Lisa is best known as a woman of strong faith and love of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her service, in the churches she attended, included teaching children in VBS, church photographer, working on administrative staff, attending women’s Bible study groups, and supporting/assisting her husband, Joe, in teaching Sunday School.
Along with her late husband, Ron, Lisa was a professional photographer specializing in wedding photography and high school senior portraits; all while raising her three children. After Ron’s passing, she continued raising the children while juggling jobs of front office receptionist and later, as a church administrative staff member.
Upon marrying Joe, she was able to be the homemaker that she desired to be while exploring various activities. These included sewing, baking, knitting, gardening, art, fishing, and hiking: with a camera always in reach. Lisa enjoyed volunteering at both, the Midwest Food Bank and Peoria Rescue Ministries. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed nature whenever she could; always praising God the Creator in watching birds, the changing seasons, marveling at the diversity in snowflakes, admiring God’s artistry in flowers and sunsets, the choir practice of frogs, and even staying outside watching storms until dragged inside to safety by Joe.
Lisa loved her family and friends and treasured time with them, looking forward to holidays, birthdays, or just baking/decorating cookies with the grandchildren, and always seen happy with her signature smile! Lisa will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Grace Church in Morton, with Pastor Jonathan Farrell officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace Church and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
