Lisa Velez, beloved wife of Michael A. Velez of Norwalk, passed away on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025, at the Norwalk hospital.
Born on December 26th, 1962, in Norwalk, Connecticut, she was the daughter of James Ron Hollar and the late Barbara Hollar.
Lisa's education began at Norwalk High School, where she later pursued a career in the insurance industry, following in her father's footsteps.
Family was Lisa's top priority. She was a loving wife, nurturing mother, caring sister, adoring daughter, supportive aunt and doting grandmother. Lisa found joy in caring for her loved ones and creating a warm home. Lisa's son Michael was the light of her life, her only son and her reason for her strength during her health struggles. Her husband Michael was there by her side for over 37 years Lisa was cherished by many, especially her cousins, whom she guided with wisdom as the eldest. Her sharp mind made her the go-to person for all of their childhood memories. Lisa also carried a deep love for her late mother. She never stopped missing her as they shared a special bond and her life was never the same after she passed. Despite health struggles, she always prioritized her family and adored her grand babies, Aubrey and Ariana.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Michael A. Velez; her son, Michael J. Velez; (Alyssa); and their daughters, Aubrey and Ariana. She is also survived by her father, James Ron Hollar; her brother, James R. Hollar, Jr. wife Jennifer and her sister, Dawn Marie Hollar, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lisa joins her mother Barbara Hollar, in eternal rest.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 19, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk.
A service will be held on Thursday, November 20, at 12:00 Noon, at Broad River Church, 163 New Canaan Ave., Norwalk.
