Lisa Waters Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by M. John Scanlan Funeral Home - Pompton Plains on Jan. 10, 2026.
With aching hearts and endless love, we share the passing of Lisa Ann Waters, 56 years young, of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, who left this world on January 9, 2026. Lisa was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and friend - a bright spirit whose love, laughter, and adventurous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lisa was the kind of person you felt immediately comfortable around. She had a natural warmth, a way of making people feel welcome, cared for, and understood without ever needing to say much. Her presence was comforting and steady, yet she also carried an undeniable spark: she loved life, she loved joy, and she loved making memories. Lisa didn't just live she showed up fully, with an open heart and a smile that made everything lighter.

She shared a beautiful life with her loving husband, Craig Waters, her partner in every sense of the word. Their love was built on devotion, friendship, and the everyday moments that make a life meaningful: laughter, family, and the kind of loyalty that never wavers. Lisa was the heart of her home, and her love shaped everything around her.

Lisa was also a devoted and proud mother to Tanner and Shea Waters, who were the center of her world. She loved her children with a fierce, steady, unconditional love, the kind of love that guides you, protects you, and stays with you forever. Lisa was always in their corner, always encouraging, always caring, always wanting the best for them. Her love wasn't just spoken, it was lived, every single day.

Lisa was also a cherished daughter who brought pride and love to her family, and a devoted aunt whose care and presence meant so much. She had a way of making family bonds feel strong and lasting; always remembering, always reaching out, always showing love in the ways that mattered most.

Lisa had a deep love for the world around her especially the places that felt alive with beauty. She loved the beach, where she felt at peace. The ocean, the breeze, the warmth of the sun, the sound of the waves and those weren't just things she enjoyed. They were part of her spirit.

But above all, Lisa loved adventures. She had a curiosity for life and a brave heart for new experiences. Whether it was traveling, exploring, or simply chasing the excitement of what might be around the corner, she believed in living fully and making the most of every moment. She created memories that her family will hold forever. The kind that comes with laughter, stories, and that unmistakable feeling of "this is a moment we'll never forget."

Lisa's legacy is love. Love for her family. Love for life. Love for the ocean and the beautiful world she enjoyed so much. Love that made people feel safe and valued. Love that didn't need grand gestures because it was present in everything she did.

Though the pain of losing her is immeasurable, so is the gratitude of having been loved by her. Lisa Ann Waters leaves behind a family who will honor her by living the way she did with courage, with joy, and with an appreciation for life's simple miracles. Her memory will live on in every story told, every shoreline visited, and every adventure taken in her honor. She will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Craig Waters; her children, Tanner Waters and Shea Waters; her mother Marie Roig, her stepfather Richard Roig; her sisters, Gina, Laura, and Megan. She was predeceased by her father, Walter DaSilva. She is also survived by beloved aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday January 14, 2026 at Scanlan's: Where Life is Celebrated from 5-8PM. There will be a funeral service to conclude at 7:30PM.
