Lisa A. Young

Lisa A. Young, 58, of Derry, NH, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in her home. She was born on January 17, 1967 in Malden, MA, the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Marilyn (Pinkham) McMahon. In addition to her parents, Lisa was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence McMahon Jr., known affectionately as "Baby Larry."

Lisa had been a resident of Derry for the past two years. She grew up in Malden, MA and previously lived in Wakefield, MA for 17 years, where she raised her three children. She was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1985, and later pursued her love of art and design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for two years.

Before returning to the workforce, Lisa devoted many years to being a stay-at-home mother, raising her children and being there for them every step of the way. She supported them with constant love and care and was selfless by nature-always thinking of others and putting their needs before her own. She was most recently employed as a cashier at Hart's Ace Hardware in Wakefield, MA, where she was known for her kindness, helpfulness, and friendly smile, always taking the time to talk with customers and make them feel like family.

Spending time with her children and family was the true highlight of Lisa's life. She cherished those moments and found joy in the simple pleasures-gardening, Italian food, pizza, decorating for the holidays, shopping, and taking day trips. She also found comfort in quiet moments at home, watching her favorite TV shows and spending time with her daughters' beloved cats, Zoey and Missy. Lisa was deeply involved in her children's lives and never missed a game, recital, or special event. She was always so proud of them, especially enjoying cheering on her son at his football games.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Young of Derry; her daughters, Shannon Young and Sarah Young, both of Derry; her son, Bobby Young of Derry; her siblings, Catherine Wesolowski and her husband Thomas of Nashua, NH; Joann Bryant and her husband Alvin of California; Michael McMahon of Malden, MA; and Rene Belmonte and her husband Paul of Saugus, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 19th from 9:00–11:00am at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
