Parks, Louisiana – To honor our sister, Lise Lasseigne Romero, 62, who passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Parks (1086 Main St. Parks, LA 70582) from 9:00 am until 10:45 am.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Parks . After services, a reception will resume at the K.C. Hall for family and friends who care to join us in celebrating Lise’s life.
Lise was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many as a caregiver. With her kind and nurturing nature, she consistently went above and beyond to ensure the well-being of those under her care.
She had an extraordinary knack for baking, and was legendary among family and friends when recreating Mom’s (Maw Genny’s) delicious, world famous pecan cake. Lise also found joy in simple pleasures such as going to the movies and volunteering in the nursery at her church, spreading kindness to the youngest members of the congregation.
Beyond her role as a caregiver, Lise excelled as a mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had an endless capacity for love and compassion, exemplified by her immense adoration for her son, Tory. Lise poured every ounce of kindness into being the best mother she could be, guiding Tory with wisdom and warmth. Her devotion to family extended beyond blood ties; Lise embraced all those fortunate enough to enter her inner circle with open arms, especially the many foster children she and husband Roy welcomed into their lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Tory Romero; brothers and sisters, Jacques Lasseigne, Jr. (Anne), Andy Lasseigne (Joan), Clyde Lasseigne (Tammy), Alvin Lasseigne (Paula), Esther Lasseigne, Michele Leblanc (Benny), Claire Parr, Yvonne Blanchard (Bryan), Rachele Broussard, Toby Broussard (Lisa), Shelia Champagne (Leonard), and Celia Broussard; father-in-law, Gerald P. Romero (Julie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lise was surrounded with wonderful earthly angels throughout her life. The family extends a special thank you to Dawn Freeburn who has continued to help Lise by mentoring Tory taking him to church to maintain his deep faith with God.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Romero; parents, Jacques Lasseigne, Sr., Genevieve Duplantis Lasseigne, Shirley J. Broussard and Celia L. Broussard; her sister, Shelia Prioux; and mother-in-law, Diana Dautreuil.
