A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Lizzie Jefferson Price will be held at 1:00pm at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church,120 Daigre Street, Loreauville, LA with Deacon Roland Jeanlouis officiating.
The family will receive family and friends for the visitation on Saturday November 8, 2025, at 9:00am until 12:00pm at Fletcher Funeral Home in
New Iberia, LA. The rosary will be prayed at 11:00am.
The burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Loreauville, LA following the Mass of Christian Burial.
Lizzie Jefferson Price, a loving wife, Mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday October 28, 2025.
Lizzie was born in Lafayette, LA on July 24, 1943, to the late Althea Davis Jefferson and Antoine Jefferson. Lizzie was known for her style, beauty and grace. Lizzie always brightened any room with her loving heart contagious smile, and caring personality. She was a kind and generous person who would help anyone. Lizzie enjoyed meeting people, going to Festivals and helping others by picking them up for groceries and running errands. She also enjoyed traveling and collecting spoons as a souvenir. Some of her greatest enjoyments were spending time with family, visiting with friends and going to social gatherings.
Lizzie attended Jonas Henderson High School and later obtained her GED. She also graduated from Teche Area Vocational College where she obtained her degree in Business Principles & Accounting. Lizzie was employed by LaSalette Hospital in the early 70's as a CNA. Then, Lizzie worked for Delta School of Business for six (6) years as a recruiter. She enjoyed helping others progress and have better lives through education.
Upon leaving Delta Schools she became an owner/operator of Salem Medical Transportation. In 1993, Lizzie embraced her position as Chief Office Manager (COO) for 10 years, at Lending A Hand Home Health Lafayette location, a family-owned business where she worked closely with her oldest daughter, Shelsi Olivier. Finally, at the latter part of her career she became the owner of Jefferson's Gifts & Apparel. Lizzie loved being self-employed and making a difference in the community. Without hesitation, she would donate outfits from her store to women in need and children needing school clothing.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving husband of 21 years, Willie Price of
New Iberia, LA; four daughters, Shelisi J. Olivier of
New Iberia, LA, Cleais J. Hadnot (Dexter) of Fulshear TX. Sedra J. Ivory (Earl) of Pearland, TX, Althea C. Jefferson of
New Iberia, LA; one brother, Junius C. Jefferson of Cade, LA; four grandchildren, Tosombra Collins Brooks (Greg) of
New Iberia, LA, Tawrri LaShae' Olivier of
New Iberia, LA, Kylah Deineen Ivory and Cyrus Edward Ivory both of Pearland, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her children, Katie Mae Pierre and Cyrus Keith Jefferson; one sister, Elsie J. Francois; one brother, Lawrence Jefferson and one grandson, Benjamin "Lil Joe" Olivier, Jr.
Active Pallbearers are Tosombra C. Brooks, James R. Francois, Kenneth A. Francois, Gregory Brooks,
Cyrus K Jefferson, Earl Ivory, and J' Braun Armelin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Willie Price, Junius Jefferson, Dexter Hadnot, Cyrus K. Jefferson, Cyrus E. Ivory, Benjamin "Lil Joe" Olivier, Jr., and Althea "Teetah" Jefferson.
