Lloyd Carl Arrowchis, Sr., age 74, passed away peacefully, at UBMC, in Roosevelt, UT, on January 30, 2023.
He was the son of Bishop & Dorothy Arrowchis, born on June 2, 1948, at Duchesne County Hospital. He came from a family of 8 kids. He graduated from Union High School and attended and graduated from the Intermountain Police Academy, in Brigham City, UT, with high honors & with the highest accumulated score of 99.9 in firearms. This score was the highest score ever attained at the academy which stood for many years.
Lloyd married Delores LaRose, they were united and had 12 children to make one awesome family. They have 46 grandkids and 81 great-grandkids and 3 great-great grandkids.
He was an excellent hunter. He taught his daughters how to hunt from the time they were babies and then he taught his grandkids and great-grandkids. Some of their greatest memories came from hunting along side him. He had an appreciation & love for the outdoors and nature.
He devoted most of his life and career to Law Enforcement starting out as a Police Officer for the Ute Indian Tribe and was promoted to Chief of Police for the Ute Indian Tribe. Lloyd had a good working relationship with all the surrounding law enforcement agencies, Uintah & Duchesne Counties, Vernal & Roosevelt Cities & the Utah Highway Patrol. He assisted many officers in advancing their careers in law enforcement. Lloyd held other law enforcement positions after retiring from the Chief's position.
Lloyd was a very caring & compassionate person. He always gave freely with no expectations. Because of his kind heartedness, and generosity, he will always be missed.
He is survived by his siblings, Frank (Glenda) Arrowchis, Smiley Arrowchis, May Marie Zahne; his children: Percel Cesspooch, Kesley LaRose, Keith Blackhair, Anson Manning, Stephenie Cuch, Deloy Arrowchis, Mandi Mills, Carol Ann Holgate,
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Joyce Elaine Murdock Beverly Jean Arrowchis; Michael Arrowchis; Lina Marie; his children, Ted Manning, Lance Manning, Marla Manning, Lloyd Carl Arrowchis, Jr.; his grandchildren, Adel Blackhair, Toney Boye Tallbird, Tommy Joe Tallbird, Sharlynn Manning, Les Manning, Otis Manning, Kyle Manning, Decker Manning, Tyrell Sowsonicut.
Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Helen’s Catholic Church. 435 E 2nd N Roosevelt. Rosary to be held on that same morning at 10:30 a.m. with the church opening at 10:00 a.m. A wake will be held at Lloyd's home, 7000 North 4901 East, on the Lapoint Road.
Burial in the Ft. Duchesne Cemetery.
