Lloyd Scott Collins, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 96 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Born on December 22, 1929, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Joe and Mary L. (Crain) Collins, Lloyd was a man of considerable skill and dedication, who spent an esteemed 45-year career as a welder with Kirkwood Tank Company. His craftsmanship was matched only by his commitment to family and community.
Lloyd was educated at Claremore Sequoyah School, where he developed the strong work ethic and values that would define his life. He married the love of his life, Ida Louise Gragg, on December 16, 1948. Together, they built a loving home and raised three children who carried forward the legacy of kindness and determination instilled by their parents.
He is survived by his three children, Larry Joe Collins, Gary Scott (Scotty) Collins, and Karen Sue Hafner. Lloyd is also survived by two sisters, Mary Jo and Marjorie, as well as fourteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends who cherished his warmth and laughter.
Lloyd had a passion for the outdoors that brought joy to his life. He loved working with cattle, building things, and spending time outdoors, whether it was brush hogging or gathering around a fire. His joyful spirit and adventurous nature inspired those around him, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Collins, his beloved wife, Louise Collins, ten siblings, and daughter-in-law, Elaine Collins. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of his survivors.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation with family on December 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home, located at 1000 South Lombard Lane, Skiatook, OK 74070. A funeral service will be held the following day on December 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location. Interment will follow in the Osage Gardens Cemetery.
Lloyd Scott Collins will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of love, hard work, and joy for life will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
