Lloyd worked at Abbott Laboratories where he helped create life-saving drugs and the safety of drugs currently being used. He lived, part of his life in the farmhouse of his grandparents, where he cared for his horse Hercules, and built a large and complex doll house for the family. He retired in 1994 to care for his mother in her Kenosha home until her death in 1999.
In 2003, Lloyd purchased a home in Elkhorn, Wisconsin surrounded on two sides by farms, the care of which, he was very knowledgeable. At this home, Lloyd had built a large workhouse to use his many skills with wood and other projects. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Kenosha where Lloyd was generous with his resources, his time, and where he put his knowledge of trees to use. There, he oversaw the removal of a very, large and very, old tree and the planting of a new one. Lloyd was also a member of numerous church committees and boards. Lloyd purchased land in southwestern Wisconsin, where he planted and cared for over 1000 black walnut trees. His love of travel took him places in the United States and around the world including Australia and New Zealand. We cannot celebrate Lloyd's life without mentioning his passion and exhaustive work exploring the genealogy of both sides of his family back to several generations. Some of that work Lloyd passed on to his family in written form.
