Lloyd J. Morgan, age 92 of Moundsville, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Valley Hospice, Trinity West, Steubenville, OH.
He was born November 25, 1931, in Marshall County, WV son of the late William and Roxie West Morgan.
Lloyd was a retired correction officer from the former WV Penitentiary, Moundsville with 13 years of service. He also was employed at the former Marx Toy Plant and was the cemetery caretaker at Mt. Rose Cemetery and Greenlawn Cemetery, Moundsville for over 35 years. He was a US Air Force veteran and a member of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ, Moundsville and the Jr. OUAM Lodge. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Allison Payne; four brothers: Hubert, Robert, Lewis and infant Richard Morgan and one sister: Louise Kellar.
Survivors include his wife, of 69 years, Janet Stewart Morgan; one son: Randy Morgan and Sandy Gibson of Moundsville; two daughters: Kathy Payne and Penny (Jim) Crow both of Moundsville; twin brother: Floyd (Dean) Morgan of IL; three sisters: Sandra Ferry of Milwaukee, WI, Darlene Howard of Parkersburg, WV and Linda Dumas of Naples, FL; six grandchildren: Melissa (Mike) Brandon, Aubrey (Duke) Glover, Lyndsey (Chad) Carpenter, James (Chantel) Crow, Miranda (Chooch) DeBeni and Karyssa Morgan; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:30am with Andy Robison officiating.
Interment in Mt. Rose Cemetery, Moundsville, where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside services.
