We all remember one, if we went to grade school & high school with them.
They knew the complete alphabet first, could count the highest by themselves
and always had those perfect scores on the spelling tests on Fridays in grade school. And when it came time to graduate from SHS, it was Lo Erna that had the
scholarship to Friends University in Wichita. She was our "academic" and understood the search for excellence early in school and as far as most of us knew when we went our seprate ways, she was still at Friends doing her thing.
Lo Erna's adult life found an International basis, all of which she shared with us
during class reunions. A unique individual who lived for ideas and gave a helping hand when she saw a need. The Class of "57 is proud to say she was one of ours! Bruce Eighmey.

Our condolences to the family. I was privileged to work with LoErna in volunteer work helping refugees relocate in Corvallis. She was a role model for advocacy and activism, very selfless, very giving. She was an inspiration.

LoErna was a very special and beautiful woman who gave her all in whatever area of community life she was involved with. We love her dearly and will miss her greatly. She has now joined William.

LoErna and I met when I joined her 5th grade class in Sedgwick, Kansas. She was a valuable member of our class, serving as treasurer and earning the honor of valedictorian of the class of 57.
